The next ArcInTex Conference and workshop

The next ArcInTex Network meeting is hosted by Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) in Suzhu, China. 
April 12-18, 2019.
ArcInTex International Network Meeting will explore and create connections between textile, architecture and interaction design. Taking place for the first time in Asia, the focus of this edition is to explore intersections and opportunities of blending traditional craft and heritage and advanced manufacturing. The city of Suzhou is the ideal place for this, due to its rich cultural history as well as recent developments in advanced manufacturing and technology.

In the workshops, participants have the opportunity to explore Chinese textile crafts such as Suzhou style silk and embroidery (Kesi) and Chinese bridal fashion, as well as, modern manufacturing developments such as circular knitting and functional textile materials. During the symposium speakers from academia, industry and design, will present recent developments within the theme, to give participants a taste of things happening in China.

Deadline for registration is for workshops: January 31 st and for the symposium February 15th.

PRICES

Workshop: free, accommodation, local transport and food will be provided (participation based on selection)
Symposium: 1000 RMB / 130 EUR (free for ArcInTex Network members, XJTLU faculty and students)
Symposium Dinner: 300 RMB / 40 EUR
Visit Suzhou cultural sites: 500 RMB / 65 EUR
